Locate that Net, is a Geometry lesson designed for a 6th- grade mathematics class. It covers standard MGSE6.G.4 “Represent three-dimensional figures using nets made up of rectangles and triangles and use the nets to find the surface area of these figures. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems” of the Georgia Standards of Excellence. The lesson is taught using explicit teaching model and includes a hands-on activity to help students locate the net of a three-dimensional figure. This lesson was chosen because it incorporate different learning styles and methods to help students develop a conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.
